Sparta Community Hospital is hosting a free Stop the Bleed training session in partnership with ARCH Air Medical. Stop the Bleed can save a life in any situation involving serious bleeding.
Stop the Bleed Instructor and ARCH Air Medical Flight Nurse, Breanna Bingel shares that “whether at home or out in public, knowing how to control bleeding can make a life-or-death difference when the need arises.”
The 1-hour training will be held on Tuesday, February 28, at 6:00 p.m. in Auxiliary Room A at Sparta Community Hospital’s Broadway Plaza.
Uncontrolled bleeding is reported at being the number one cause of preventable death, after injury, in the world. Stop the Bleed is a quick and effective training program designed for anyone interested in learning the skills that can make a life-or-death difference when someone is severely bleeding.
“By using direct pressure, packing a wound, or applying a tourniquet,” Bingel states that “anyone can be ready to act when a bleeding emergency occurs.”
The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Stop the Bleed campaign has trained over 1 million people including students, teachers, and community groups. ACS is committed to training anyone who is old enough to understand what the course teaches and is interested in learning how to Stop the Bleed and save a life.
