Sandra Hoffmann, MD
RheumatologyContracted/Non-Employed ProviderBiography
Dr. Hoffmann, a member of the St. Louis Rheumatology Society and the American College of Rheumatology, grew up in a small farming community in rural Kansas and understands the importance of providing specialty care in rural communities.
“If someone has an arthritis condition, a specialist can help make a difference in their daily life,” she shares. “I have had the experience of witnessing the suffering of those in my own family with chronic illness, and I am honored to have the opportunity to help alleviate this suffering.”
After receiving her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Dr. Hoffmann relocated to Boston, MA to complete a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and residency at Carney Hospital. Dr. Hoffman also completed Rheumatology fellowships at University Hospital and New England Medical Center.
Dr. Hoffmann returned to the Midwest after completing her training and built a practice in St. Louis. For the last 30+ years, Dr. Hoffmann has been working in her own private rheumatology practice and is on the medical staff at SSM St. Claire Health Center, Mercy South, Barnes Hospital and Barnes West County, Madison County Medical Center, Pike County Memorial Hospital and Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Hoffmann is on the Board of Directors for Mitrata-Nepal, a local St. Louis volunteer group sponsoring an orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal. She personally sponsors five children and travels at times to Nepal. While at home, she enjoys spending time outdoors fishing with her family and friends.
